The action of the priest at Mass which, by the
power of the Holy Spirit, changes the bread and
wine into the body and blood of Christ.
Creed
We profess our belief in the basic truths of our faith
Eucharist
Literally ’Thanksgiving’. It is sometimes used for
the Mass, or the Body and Blood of Jesus in
particular.
Eucharistic Prayer
A prayer, praising God, calling down the Holy
Spirit, retelling the Last Supper story, and with the
words of consecration.
Genuflect
To go down on one knee in the presence of the
Blessed Sacrament when you enter or leave a
Catholic church
Gloria
A song of rejoicing in the goodness of God. This is
said or sung.
Gospel
An account of Jesus life or teaching
Host
The piece of unleavened bread that is used in the
Mass to become the Body of the Lord Jesus
