Youth Employment Initiative (YEI)
EU measures to reduce Unemployment
supports the provision of:
- Apprenticeships
- Traineeships
- Job placements
- Further education leading to qualification
for people aged below 25 and living in regions where youth unemployment is higher than 25%
Erasmus Programme
A program to support students studying abroad in any EU countries.
European Job Mobility Portal
EU measures to reduce Unemployment
Cooperation network designed to facilitate the free movement of workers within the EU
connects with public and private employment services, trade unions, employers organizations etc.
THey provide information, placement and recruitment services to employers and jobseekers
EU Definition
The EU is a customs Union with a united monetary policy (interest rates are set by the European Central Bank);
member states impose a common external tariff on imported goods
EU help requirements
If a region of the EU has a GDP per capita of 75% or less of the average EU GDP per capita, this region is eligible for help in the EU
Structural Fund
consists of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF)
Cohesion Fund
- applies to member states with a GNI of less than 90% of EU average
- interventions in the field of environment and trans-European transport networks
