etiquette is a code of polite behaviour in sport by either competitors or spectators.

sportsmanship is polite and fair behaviour while participating in a game or athletic event.

define gamesmanship
A
gamesmanship is the art or practice of winning games by questionable (hard to detect) tac tics without actually breaking the rules.

List examples of gamesmanship.
A
- time wasting - not adhering to time rules, ex. delaying serving in tennis.
- bending the rules, slowing the play down - pretending to be injured/faking injury - diving to win a free kick.
- pressuring/intimidating officials, ex. team gathering around an official.
- sledging an opponent - whispering to them to put them off before they take a penalty.

what are the negative effects of gamesmanship?
A
- young people copying role models
- spectators will get frustrated and stop attending
- opposing players will get annoyed and use the same tac tics
- player using gamesmanship is less focussed on their performance.
- against the spirit of sport
- damages the reputation of the sport and the player
- may result in punishments
