Stereotype
A widely held, but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
cultual assimilation
The process by which a minory individual or group come to resemble the dominant/prevelant group.
Ethnicity
A social construct that integrates culture language and nationality to create a common sense of identity
cultural appropriatinon
when somebsomebody adopts aspectds of a culture that’s not their own
Implicit
when somthing is implied, but not directly stated
Decolonization
The process of undoing colonialism.
It involves self determination and reclaming the culture and practices of your ancestors
cultural relativism
The practice of assessing a cultural by its own standerds rather than viewing it through the lens of one’s own culture.

Using words of phrases (codes) that signal somehting deeper than is being implicitly said
identity
A person’s ideas and expression of their own self and other’s individuality or grou affiliations
Nationality
The legal relationship between an individual person and a national/country; can refer to an ethnic group as well
Race
A social construct that was created to dive people into categories along physical lines
settler colonialism
A type of colonialism in which the indigenous peoples of a a colonized region are displaced by settlers who permenantly form a society there
