What are the seven ethical principles?
Beneficence Non-maleficence Confidentiality Justice Autonomy Veracity Respect for human dignity
What is beneficence?
Good health and welfare of the patient.
Treat all clients equally.
What is non-maleficence?
No harm is to come to clients, intentionally or unintentionally.
What is confidentiality?
The obligation to conceal private client information or knowledge.
What is justice?
All clients should be treated with fairness, equality, and impartiality.
What is autonomy?
Every individual has a right of independence and free will.
What is veracity?
Being honest and telling the truth.
Trust relationship between client and health practitioner.
What is respect for human dignity?
Protecting the multiple and interdependent interests of the person e.g. psychological and cultural integrity.
