Morality
A system of accepted beliefs which control behaviour (agreed and taught moral rules).
Ethics
The study of what is morally right and what is morally wrong (includes critical approach, is based on rational argument).
Autonomy

Justice
Fair distribution of benefits and burdens.
Duty of Care
a moral or legal obligation to ensure the safety or well-being of others.
Social Justice
NHS distribution of healthcare on fair bases
Deontology
(Respect for autonomy) is the act right or wrong in itself, irrespective of benefits for me or other consequences, abiding to duty of care.
Consequentialism/ Utilitarianism
whether action is right or wrong is dependent on the consequences (act always to maximise happiness of greatest number of people).
Virtue Ethics
honesty to myself and consistency in my acts, professionalism and morals.
Religious Theories
does the act respect the sanctity of human life, fundamental value.
Communitarianism/ Community Ethics
Is the act good for everyone who will be affected by the act.
Principlism
is a system of ethics based on the 4 moral principles of:
- Autonomy
- Beneficence
- Non-maleficence
- Justice
