This is a set of ethical guidelines. These instruct psychologists in the U.K. About what behaviour is and is not acceptable when dealing with pps. Guidelines are built around 4 major principles: respect, competence, responsibility and integrity. Guidelines are implemented by ethics committees in institutions who often use a cost-benefit approach to determine if the research proposals are ethically acceptable.
