- Commitment to the truth
- Refers to openness and scrutiny (How honest and transparent is it?)

A
- Emphasises the fair distribution of resources and equal access to benefits of an action
- Whereas ‘fairness’ refers to equal treatment, ‘justice’ refers to giving everyone what they need

Beneficence
A
Seeking to maximise the benefits for others. It promotes the wellbeing of others.

Respect
A
- Upholding the value of others including their welfare, beliefs, freedoms, and autonomy
- Promotes the freedom of others to make decisions for themselves and their protection from persecution or exploitation.

Non-Maleficence
A
- A commitment to minimising
harm sometimes at the cost of restricting some people’s freedoms.

Consequences approach
A
‘ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS’
- The best action is the one that produces the ‘most good’ and the ‘least harm’
- Must show a positive and negative effect when taking this approach

Duty/rules based approach
A
‘MEANS ABOVE THE ENDS’
- The best action is the one that follows what’s legally right, regardless of the outcome

‘MORAL COMPASS’
- The best action produces the “most good” and “least harm”
