  1. Confidentiality- keeping participants’ identities anonymous
  2. Deception- deliberately misleading or withholding info from participants
  3. Debrief- explaining study purpose, procedures, and deception to participants
  4. Informed consent- informing participants about study procedures
  5. Protection from harm- researchers are responsible for protecting participants from physical and psychological harm
  6. Right to Withdraw- participants can leave anytime
