Procedural Justice
The procedures used by police officers in which citizens are treated fairly and with proper respect as human beings
Police Legitimacy
The public view the police as entitled to exercise their authority in order to maintain social order, manage conflicts, and solve problems in the community
How do officers get legitimacy?**

Four Principles of Procedural Justice
1- Giving the citizen a voice
2- Neutrality (fair, impartial, and objective)

4-Trustworthiness through transparent process
Community Policing
a philosophy that supports the use of community involvement and “problem-solving techniques to proactively address the immediate conditions that give rise to public safety issues such as crime, social disorder, and fear of crime”
