Pancha Sila
Five moral precepts that Buddhists aim to follow, heart of buddhist ethics.
First Precept Negative
I undertake to abstain from taking and harming life.
First Precept Positive
I shall show meter to all sentient beings.
Second Precept Negative
I undertake to abstain from taking that which is not freely given.
Second Precept Positive
I shall show dana to all sentient beings.
Third Precept Negative
I undertake to refrain from misusing sexuality.
Third Precept Positive
I shall show respect to all sentient beings.
Fourth Precept Negative
I undertake to abstain from false speech.
Fourth Precept Positive
I shall show honesty and sincerity to all.
Fifth Precept Negative
I undertake to abstain from intoxicants to the mind.
Fifth Precept Positive
I shall show mindfulness in my actions.
Karuna
Compassion, focus on person who needs the most, like a mother and her child.
Metta
Loving kindness, guiding principle in how people relate and behave to others, universal virtue.
Kamma
action, also influences which realm of the wheel of samsara a person is born into after death.
Punna Kamma, Pappa Kamma
Good action, bad action.
