- Does a computer system mean that people can work from home and therefore drive less
- Has computer technology led to a throwaway society, with huge waste dumps of unwanted products which are thrown away rather than kept and repaired.
- Is working at home more environmentally friendly than everyone working a big office in terms of heating and lighting
- Do computer managed engines work more efficiently, create less pollution and use less fuel?

Ethics is concerned with what is good for individuals and society

What are the three laws of robotics?
A
- Robot may not injure a human being, or through inaction allow a human being to come to harm
- A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the first law
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second laws

- Mapping of a collection of characters to specific bit sequences or codes.
- Collection can increase in number dependent on the max number of bits allocated to each character
