Consequentialism/Utilitarianism
Maximize positive consequences
“The Greater Good”
Give to charity because it feeds the hungry
Deontology
An action is good if it follows from moral rules/commands
consequences donlt matter, following moral law matters
Virtue Ethics
Education Based: observe virtuous people, practice virtuous action, become virtuous.
Relativism
All ethical frameworks are subjective. Anchored in place and time, no absolute wrong/right
Some Cultures frown on bribery, some don’t.
Autonomy
Respecting an individuals right to make their own decisions.
Non-Malefinence
The duty to avoid causing harm to others
Beneficence
Obligates individuals to act in ways that benefit others
Justice
Fairess and equitable distribution of resources and oppurtunities, esuring everyone is treated fairly.
