Consequentialist
The moral rightness of an action is determined by its results only
Utilitarianism
They are concerned with the happiness or suffering of any sentient being
Contractarianism
Moral or political theories base on the idea of a social contract on how to treat animals properly
Deontology
Defines actions as right or wrong, they would care about the process of killing the animal
Relational Importance
This means we treat animals that we have a relationship with better
Animal Rights
The principle of treating animals fairly
Environment Ethics
They look at the relationship of the environment/ Humans and animals and how we may affect each other within a scenario
Human-centred
Humans are the most important specie on the planet and have no duty to care for other species or the environment
Sentience-Centred
They belive that we should treat animals on if they can feel pain or think
Environment-Centred
All living things are dependent on one another and humans are not ‘worth’ more than other species. Humans must respect all other elements of nature for life to thrive.
Anthropomorphism
This is when you relate human characteristics to animals
Speciesism
belief that any use of animals by humans reflects a bias or that humans are superior to animals
Positive buying
Choosing to buy ethically made products
Negative buying
Choosing not to buy ethically made products
Company based purchasing
Choosing to buy from a specific company possibly for ethical reasons
