Ethical - what society considers to be wrong and right
Legal - what is right and wrong in the eyes of the law
Cultural - how groups of people with different beliefs are affected

Open-source - very open, anyone can contribute
Users can copy, share and modify software
Freely available
Testing may be less formal
May require technical knowledge to install
What is censorship?
Someone stopping you from accessing something
What is surveillance?
Someone actively watching you
What is the digital divide?
Widening gap between those who have and use technology and those who don’t
What is E-waste?
Any discarded item with a battery or plug and has toxic or hazardous substances

The state of having work, the opposite of unemployment
