Respect
Involves valuing the dignity and worth of all individuals
Respect - Informed Consent
Give participants every bit of information about the study so that they can decide if they want to take part or not
Respect - Presumptive Consent
Gaining agreement to participate in principal from a group of people similar to those that you intend to study
Respect - Right to Withdraw
All participants have this with them and their data at any point during or after the research has been carried out
Respect - Confidentiality
Any data must be kept private with no identifiable information on it
Competence
This includes functioning within limits of one own knowledge and skill
Responsibility - Protection of participant
Psychologist must keep participants away from psychological or physical harm
Responsibility - Debrief
Full detail of what study was about and what you intend to do with the results to participants
Integrity
Valuing honesty, accuracy and fairness in interactions and seeking to promote a scientific and professional attitude
Integrity - Deception
Participants should not deliberately be misinformed about the aim or the procedure
Respect - Presumptive Consent
