You broke all the dishes.
Past simple: actions which started and finished in the past
Ana va al parque todos los fines de semana.
Anna goes to the park every weekend.
Present perfect. (You’ve made a mess.)
To talk about actions in the past that are still true now
Ever
To ask about what someone has done in their life up to now.
Never
To talk about what someone has not done in their life up to now.
Nunca he hecho un pastel.
I’ve never made a cake.

Use present perfect to talk about past actions after a certain time or date.
