A

Dominance of central incisors

  1. Smile arc (max incisors in vertical position) - Curved, straight, or inverted. Centrals lower than canine or laterals
  2. Ratio/symmetry of centrals (75% w/h)
  3. Proportion between anterosuperior teeth (golden ratio 62% not gospel, higher like 67/70 may be preferred)
  4. Presence of anterosuperior spaces (close midline diastema at minimum)

  1. Gingival design (Central gingival margin are level or slightly below canine. Lateral are level or below centrals)
  2. Gingival exposure (<3 mm is okay, do not intrude centrals, guide tx by etiology)
  3. Buccal corridor (not critical for smile esthetics. Intermediate buccal corridor more attractive, avoid wide corridor)
