Beer-Lambert Law
There is a linear relationship between absorbance and concentration of an absorbing substance which is limited by stray light
How do monochromators work?
They reduce stray light by channelling multiple wavelengths of the light source to a single wavelength
What is stray light?
Any wavelength outside the band transmitted by the monochromator
