• simon is kind and generous, christ-like: “simon found for them fruit they could not reach” relates to the idea of jesus feeding the 5000 and his death was similar to that of jesus’ crucifixion and death: “a body on a hill”
• simon is enlightened about human nature: “maybe there is a beast… maybe it’s only us”
