Intro
Robin Jenkins the ‘Cone-gatherers’ is a disturbing novel . set during the Second World War in Ardmore Scotland, featuring the estates gamekeeper John Duror. Duror displays hateful and an evil nature through his unnecessary and obsessive hatred towards Calum- the cone-gatherer. Duror slowly shows his unnatural evil to the world throughout the novel whilst convincing himself that it is acceptable behaviour. Through the analysis of characterisation and literary techniques Jenkins shows how Duror has slowly yet deludedly accepted his immoral evil
