Nowadays, a lot of offices employ open-space designs instead of separate rooms for work. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
+ Open plan offices break down barriers, both literally and figuratively. Having everyone working within an open space can be great for turning your office into a productive hub of communication and collaboration.
The open plan office layout makes it extremely easy for your team to communicate due to the absence of walls and doors. This encourages you to walk and talk instead of hitting ‘send’ on yet another email for something you could instead discuss in person!
It’s important, though, that your open layout is paired with a friendly company culture that favours communication within the office, to ensure that your employees feel comfortable communicating with one another.
The increased noise levels from open plan communication might reflect distractions for some of your team. However, thoughtful acoustic and design solutions can help to minimise this issue and give your team the space they need to concentrate on their own work
- Arguably the most common issue people have with working in an open plan office is the noise level. Some employees may find it difficult taking phone calls if the office is particularly loud or you are easily distracted. Additionally, noise travels easier through an open space and with no barriers or cubicles to shield you from office talk traffic.

Recent research suggests that the majority of criminals who are sent to prison commit crimes after they are released. Why is this the case? What can be done to solve this problem?
1 - The criminal justice system places too much emphasis on punishing prisoners rather than attention on their rehabilitation. This is because society considers that the punishment experience itself will keep the ex-criminals from committing the crime again and that it is unnecessary to provide skills that might help them after being released.
2 - To cut the reoffending rate, the government can introduce the program with the aim to make former prisoners employable and ready to be back to society after being released. Therefore, it is important to introduce classes where prisoners not only can get education-based knowledge and labor skills, but also receive help from a mental health professional.
