I learned to eat when I was feeling bad, now I can unlearn.
Distracting activities Call a friend Write an email to someone distant Clean out drawer Drink hot tea, watch birds outside Play a word game on iPad Accept feelings upset without trying to distract myself.
If I eat when upset, I will feel momentary comfort. Then I will have 3 problems…
The original , feeling out of control and gaining weight
When I eat for emotional reasons to I want 1 or 3 problems??
It’s not my responsibility to make family feel good about what they eat and drink , but it IS my responsibility to make healthy choices that makes feel good .
When I give into food pushers? I don’t enjoy the extra food or drink…?i become upset with myself and the pusher
You believe it’s not okay to feel negative emotions
Negative emotions aren’t bad. They are part of being human. Negative emotions always crest, like a wave and then start to come down. I don’t have to be afraid of my feelings
Even if I don’t feel like using a diet skill, I have to do it anyway. If I only do what I feel like doing , I won’t lose weight and keep it off!
Do it anyway!
Give myself credit
I deserve credit EVERY TIME I exercise. Every time I practice a diet skill. Stick to plan
I need to eat mindfully while sitting down-EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Say no to extra food
Get rid of extra food. It will be wasted in the trash can or in my body . Wasted either way!
Putting eating healthy first
I have to plan my life around exercise and healthy eating !
I deserve to put myself first
The initial dieting mistake
Is not the real trap…
The real trap is what happens after the mistake.
