Presentation of erosion

A
  • Usually maxillary teeth
  • Incisal, palatal and occlusal surfaces most likely affected
  • Chamfered ridges/ledges within enamel
  • Cusp tips may be cupped or incisal edges grooved with exposed dentine
  • Yellowing of teeth

Tx of erosion in the primary dentition

A
  • Asymptomatic = prevention only
  • Symptomatic = small areas covered in composite, large areas = strip crowns/PMC
  • Extractions if severe
