Erosional Landforms Flashcards
1
Q
Interlocking spurs and V-shaped valleys.
A
1.Vertical erosion cuts into the crust.
2.Weathering causes sides of the valley to erode.
This can increase the rivers load capacity.
3.River cannot yet erode the hard bands of rock so it moves around it forming interlocking spurs

Q
Characteristics of interlocking spurs and V-shaped valleys.
A
Both have a steep gradient and are narrow.
Interlocking spurs may have scree slopes ( large angular rocks broken away from the mountainside by freeze-thaw weathering).
