What is the diffusion stage?
One is not exploring or committed: apathetic, uninterested, not close to peers, at risk of school failure, depression, and substance abuse.
What is the foreclosure stage?
One is not exploring, but committed to something: close-minded, rigid, authoritarian, tendency to resist change
What is the moratorium stage?
One is in the midst of exploring, and actively committed to something at the same time: open-minded, thoughtful, but anxious and uncertain

One’s exploring is complete and they are fully committed: balanced thinking, stronger relationships with friends and family, better academic performance, generative personality, effective decision-making skills
