A

No, Brett. Let me handle this. You’ve got to be gentle with him. (Over to Gary) officer. Officer Ferguson. I just heard that there’s an illegal gambling ring being run just down the street from here. We really need yogurt assistance to shut them down. (Wait a few seconds) Wow! I’ve been saving that one. I thought for sure it would come in handy when he’s at his worst.

A

(Glare at Brett, then proceed to wake up Tom): Tom! Tom!

A

No. We’re taking it back a few pages. We need you for the death sequence.

34
Q

Tom (played by Dan): okey dokey! At least, that means, ill get another poppy cake!

A

no! You cant eat them. We’re running low and we need to Dave some for tmr’s show (step off-stage after Tom finishes responding to me)

35
Q

Scott (played by Dave (he’s addressing Brett): it means the world to us

A

(Step on-stage, leading inspector fuller [gonna be played by Karanveer’s bro] onto the stage): right this way

36
Q

Brett (played by Sara) (addressing inspector fuller): no

A

Brett, you were sitting right next to him!

37
Q

Brett (played by Sara): i know, i know! But i was so captivated by the performance and then the lights went out and everything was dark —

A

(Cut Brett off): what? The lights went out again?

38
Q

Misty (played by Yana): yeah. Just like before!

A

(Sound a tad annoyed): I’m on it! (Talk into headset and Step off-stage)

39
Q

Scott (played by Dave) (addressing tom): finally, someone else sees how ridiculous this is!

A

Places, people, places

40
Q

Holly (played by Shirley): yeah. And what’s with that?

A

The crew’s working on it, but there doesn’t seem to be any issue with the lighting system

41
Q

Holly (played by Shirley): this isn’t a play anymore, Brett! This is really happening to us!

A

She’s right, Brett. There’s something weird going on with these lights

42
Q

Holly (played by Shirley): you guys dont really think…

A

(Draw it out kinda): what?

43
Q

Sandy (played by Brenda): what? I’ve always been a fan of Susan’s work!

A

Seriously, you guys? Are we seriously pointing fingers at Susan, the tone deaf accompanist who’s doing her very best to provide us with all the cheesy mood music?

44
Q

Scott (played by Dave): it could have been any one of us, including you, eric.

A

(Put hand up, like pumping the brakes): now, hold it right there!

45
Q

Brett (played by Sara): he’s only saying that someone is clearly responsible for this, so why not you?

A

(Glare at Brett for the stupid comment): aaand who’s the one in handcuffs???

46
Q

Brett (played by Sara): no. Come on, guys! Get these off of me!

A

(Ignore Brett, and address the actors): we are done assigning blame. I know each and every one of you, and i know that none of you are responsible for this.

47
Q

Scott (played by Dave): three dead bodies with fire pokers in their chests!

A

(Sound genuinely puzzled/perplexed): I don’t know.

48
Q

Misty (played by Yana): but he’s right. This is weird and scary and there has to be someone who is killing all of the inspectors. Someone must be doing it, whether its one of us or……someone out there

A

Maybe I should just call the cops again

49
Q

Brett (played by Sara): no!

A

But someone has to figure this mess out!

50
Q

Brett (played by Sara): I mean, when you think about it, they do know how to pick apart a murder mystery

A

(Sound annoyed, but low tone, not high tone): Whhoo?

51
Q

Brett (played by Sara): Eric, go inv— ill just go invite him in

A

No! Let me do it. You’re in handcuffs. Sit down and try to look more professional (step off-stage)

52
Q

Sandy (played by Brenda): there he is! Oh this is so cool! (Enter before or as Sandy begins speaking)

A

(Cross the stage, leading Adam sears): here’s they are, Mr. Sears, the cast of pouting a little English on it

53
Q

Adam (played by Don): I’m sorry? (This is when Brett barges in)

A

Oh, uh… that’s Brett, our director.

54
Q

Adam (played by Don): a pleasure (goes to shake Brett’s hand but Brett is still handcuffed)

A

Oh, um, you’ll have to forgive Brett (cant come up w/an excuse). It seems he’s all… tied up… atm

55
Q

Richard (played by Karanveer) (talking to Adam): those are fire poker actually

A

And, actually, we were hoping you could help us with that

56
Q

Adam (played by Don): oh, really? Then, why haven’t i ever heard off him before? But you’re right, i can almost always spot the killer early on in a murder mystery

A

That’s what were counting on

57
Q

1) Scott (played by Dave) (addressing Adam): i had a feeling he’d say that
2) Scott (played by Dave): excellent! Lets get going so we can all get going!

A

1) What if we just take it back to right before the murder took place?
2) Places, everyone! (Step off-stage)

58
Q

Brett (played by Sara): Eric! (Adam has just died)

A

(Step on-stage) what now? (Brett will point out Adams dead) oh. seriously?

59
Q

Misty (played by Yana): why does this keep happening?

A

What’s the deal with the lights?

60
Q

Sandy (played by Brenda): ooh! A curse! So what, like, the play is cursed or something or — ooh! Did someone say Macbeth?

A

(Look/sound deflated) exhale drop to knees maybe cover head with stage notes binder if holding it

61
Q

Richard (played by karanveer): i mean don’t you think its strange that every time we replay the scene, the lights go out for no reason and someone ends up stabbed with a fire poker? What murdered has access to so many fire pokers? We only have one on set at the top of the show, right?

A

(Sound reassured) Right

62
Q

Richard (played by karanveer): thank you Tom. So it isn’t storming out and the lights shouldn’t be going out unless there’s a technical problem

A

(Sound reassured) There’s not. It’s been checked and double checked.

63
Q

Brian D Taylor (played by Jim): could someone just tell me what’s going on already?

A

(Point at the bodies as i describe): inspector fuller thought Brett killed inspector wright, who was here to investigate the death of Gary, who’s playing inspector Bradshaw. When they ended up dead themselves, Brett thought we should have Adam sears give us his opinion, but then he ended up dead, too!

64
Q

Brett (played by Sara): Eric, do we have, like, a helmet or something in the costumes?

A

(Look like I’m thinking for a couple seconds): I know! Wait one second (run off-stage)

65
Q

Tom (played by Dan): seriously? Are we realty that bad?

A

(Run on-stage w/chain mail): this ought to protect you

66
Q

Brett (played by Sara): everyone, just uhh, err, grab someone

A

(After pulling bodies off stage and coming back on): so we’re really going on with the show then?

67
Q

Brett (played by Sara): oh, right

A

(In reference to there being no inspector Bradshaw): Ill do it

68
Q

Holly (played by Shirley): no, Eric. You already do too much

A

No. Bretts right. The show must go on. [plus] i know all the lines for inspector Bradshaw

69
Q

Misty (played by Yana) (addressing the Susan): i knew it was you all along!

A

(Sound off put): misty!

70
Q

Scott (played by Dave): what? My accent is perfection

A

(Roll eyes): what are you suggesting, Richard?

71
Q

Hol;lay (played by shirley): well, you, ofc

A

But not the you we all know, cause thats all an act

72
Q

Richard (played by karinveer): she’s right. since we are all characters, we can never break character. Son there’s no way of really knowing who we are until the play is over

A

(Groan, hand to head): oh! My head hurts

73
Q

Misty (played by Yana) (waking up from fainting): uncle em (or E?)

A

(Look/sound relieved): oh, good. You’re back

74
Q

Brian d Taylor (played by Jim): give it to me now or ill write a bloody death for you all

A

So he’s the real playwright and the murderer then?

75
Q

Brett (played by Sara): quick everyone, top of the scene

A

What? (After Brett explains, go off-stage)

76
Q

Susan (played by Judith): well? Did it work? Is he….dead?

A

(Check Brian d Taylor’s pulse, breath a sigh of relief knowing his dead): it worked

77
Q

Brett (played by Sara): is everyone else okay? (Everyone looks at Tom)

A

Tom? (Wait for misty to talk and finish) Tom?

78
Q

Brett (played by sara): Scott, contract or not we open tmr and we’re gotta get thru the dress rehearsal. Places everyone (I step off-stage). We’re taking it from pg33 just as the players are finishing their reenactment of Mr. Blacks murder for the inspector. Oh, and well need —

A

(Step on-stage, w/inspector Bradshaw hat on, getting ready to play his role): I’m on it! Ill play the inspector

79
Q

Mrs polk (played by holly, who’s played by Shirley): surely, you’re not suggesting…

A

(In character as inspector Bradshaw) (in a British accent) (addressing Mr & mrs Polk): no no. Just trying to understand what happened here tonight. What was it you said to him again?
