in the early days, it is natural to contribute more than you receive. However, if the relationship continues and you still put more into a relationship than you give back, then it will not feel as satisfying as in the early days.

18
Q

the underbefitted partner will be motivated to make the relationship more equitable as long as they feel that it is possible to do so and the relationship is salvageable.

19

the more unfair the relationship feels, the harder an individual will work to restore equity. - another strong correlation.

20
Q

A

an individual will revise their perceptions of rewards and costs so that the relationship feels more equitable to them, even if nothing actually changes.

what was once seen as a cost earlier on in the relationship (untidiness, thoughtlessness, abuse) will now be seen as the norm.
