What are some challenges unique to providing an assessment to a player in hockey gear?

A
  1. Helmet is not considered an extension of the head so it can be removed independently. Cannot hold head grip while equipped.

Q

Why must an AT make themselves known to EMS when they arrive on scene during a trauma scenario?

A

EMS may assume you are a bystander and disregard your help. AT’s are also the most competent professional to remove equipment so EMS may rely on you to do so.
