Induction- Webber hydraulics RSX200-1075 cutter
Function- extra heavy duty cutting tool used in automotive technology for cutting vehicle body parts to aid the rescue of trapped or endangered casualties
Construction- high quality, tempered steel able to be resharpened. They have integrated bolt cutter for heavy round materials up to 43mm. The handle is adjustable through 360degrees, this can be removed if needed. Has been ergonomically designed for right and left handed users. They have a greater cutting force which clasps the material to be cut making it less likely to twist in the final stages.
Operates/safety- connect hydraulic hoses to prevent the ingress of dirt join the protective caps together. Use the push button safety switch incorporated into the control handle to control the operation of the machine. To open press the convex button, to close press the concave button. When released the blades will stop moving immediately
Advantages/disadvantages - (advantages) Will open up to 200mm, 43mm around a steel bar . Can be used by a single person as under 20kg, or can be rotated if needed, can be used by multiple personnel based on where a cut is required .Can be used by right/left handed person. Unit contains hydraulic fluid with pressure of 630/700 bar.
(Disadvantages) heavy object, weight 19.9kg, should be held as perpendicular as possible. Potentially a two person job.Cutting high tensile objects damages blade. Can cause flying pieces, care should be taken. Quite noisy
Testing-test before use, after use, 6 monthly, other. monthly visual check for any damage, general wear and tear, leakage, blades/feet. Check for ridges forming on the flat, wear and contamination of hose and connectors. Check nuts and bolts, retaining rings. Check power open and close fully. Oil blades. Check ID matches test record.
