- before FD, pilots have o2 masks and smoke goggles
- chemical agent = non-toxic but high concentrations = dizziness, impaired concentration and coordination difficulties
- metal part no touch live wires
- fluid fires = don’t get too close (scattering/splashing)

- never point stream into liquid fire. start at the base and work way up
- burning solids = short bursts
- recommended pbe. smoke + fire may cause irritation to eyes and respiratory organs
