Equations Flashcards

1
Q

Linear transformations

A

Adding “a” to every member of a data set adds “a” to the measures of position but does NOT change the measures of spread

Multiplying every member of a data set by “b” multiplies the measures of position by “b” and multiplies most measures of spread by |b| but does NOT change the shape

Q

Using Normcdf and InvNorm

Calc tips

A

Using boundaries to find area normcdf(min, max, mean, sd)

Using area to find boundaries
Invnorm(area to left as a decimal, mean, sd)

Q

What’s a residual

Eq too

A

Residual= y - y hat (actual - predicted)

A residual measures the difference between the actual and predicted y value that’s predicted by the LSRL

Paired t test identification hints Ho and Ha

A

Key phrase: mean difference

Two lists of numbers are paired
Ho: mean dif = 0

Q

Outlier rule

A

Upper cutoff = Q3 + 1.5(IQR)

Lower cutoff = Q1 - 1.5(IQR)
