Q

Prentice’s Rule

A

PD deviation=Hcm X P; where Hcm is height in cm deviation from optical center of glasses and P is the dioptric power of the glasses. Prentice law is that a lens will have a prismatic effect the further you get away from the optical center

Q

Estimated formula for determining effect of glasses on strabismic patient

A
  1. 5 X P (of glasses) = % change to measure deviation. If myopic then measures more, if hyperopic then measures less
    e. g. 40 PD deviation with -10 glasses=25% change. Since myope add this to the deviation= 10 +40 so a measured deviation of 50PD
