Q

Arrange the numbers in order from least to greatest

Then you determine the number of data elements

Formula: N+1/2 – N being the number of data elements in the data set

EX: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
9+1/2
10/2 = 5 – fifth number in the list
Answer: 5

EX: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
8+1/2
9/2 = 4.5
Average the 4th and 5th number in the data set and divide by 2
Answer: 4.5

EX: 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17
