The principle of everyone in society being treated equally regardless of who they are or what they believe in.
What is meant by the term prejudice?
A pre-judgement that someone has about someone else because of a characteristic they have
What is meant by the term discrimination?
When a person puts their prejudices into action, treating a person unfairly because of a characteristic they have
What is meant by the term racism?
Treating a person unfairly because of the racial group that they are part of
What is meant by the term sexism?
Treating a person unfairly because of their gender

22 man who murdered 6 people (revenge for feeling he had been socially and sexually neglected by women)

What are some reasons for people having racist attitudes?
Media misrepresenting minorities
Lack of exposure to minority groups- can lead to misconceptions
Upbringing around adults with racist attitudes
Bad experiences with individuals who are part of a racial group
Fear of the unknown
Lack of education- believing negative stereotypes
How can society combat racism?
Educate children in schools
Work towards the integration of different racial groups into society
Challenge negative stereotypes that are perpetuated
Solve issues that minorities are often blamed for (e.g unemployment)

if a person can’t accept that Jesus died to atone for the sins of humanity, then they can’t reach God

Gee Walker- forgave her son’s killers (racially provoked attack when he was 18)
