They had to accept trade rules, so opened its fishing grounds to foreign competition. Before this, only pakistani fishing boats could fish there

A
Deep sea trawlers (boats with nets that can go really deep) owned by TNCs were allowed to fish there.

A
-Boats from India and elsewhere took majority of the catch, whilst pakistan’s own fishing communities were left in poverty.
