Primary industry continues to fall and secondary industry also begins to fall as the area experiences a global shift moving manufacturing abroad for cheaper labour.

A

A place with a growing economic sector will have more opportunities which will create greater attachments to people
An area with mainly primary work will likely be more rural due to natural resources in bulk
University students grow attachment to the area they study in which will develop it due to inflow of working age people

A

Healthcare - better healthcare means people can work longer, take less time off and be more productive. Improves life expectancy so can work later into life.
Education - better education results in more people going into higher education resulting in higher skilled workers

Transportation developments make it easier for people to travel in and out making it more popular which could make it a bigger destination leading to a rise in shops and housing. Also makes importing and exporting goods easier/more efficient aiding development
Eg. London docklands experienced physical change due to bombing in the war changing its function as ships could no longer pass through. Therefore changed to air travel to transport goods
