Main driveshaft failure
- autorotation - accomplish
EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN
- Throttles — CLOSE.
- FUEL PBAS — CLOSED (illuminated).
- Rotor brake — ON.
- APU — OFF.
- Battery — OFF.
- Exit helicopter.
- Battery — OFF.
APU FIRE
- APU — OFF.
- APU fire PBA — ARM.
- READY/DISCHARGE PBA — DISCHARGE. Illumination of READY indicates fire bottle is ready for
discharge. Ensure indication changes to DISCH to show fire bottle discharged.
- READY/DISCHARGE PBA — DISCHARGE. Illumination of READY indicates fire bottle is ready for
- Helicopter — SHUTDOWN.
- Exit helicopter.
- Helicopter — SHUTDOWN.
ENGINE HOT START
*1. Throttle (affected engine) — CLOSE.
*2. FUEL PBA (affected engine) — CLOSE.
*3. START PBA (affected engine) — ENGAGE. Motor until MGT decreases below 150 °C or 2-minute
automatic timeout is reached.
4. Helicopter — SHUTDOWN.
Dual Hydraulic Failure
*1. Land immediately.
ENGINE FIRE ON START (EXTERNAL)
- Throttles — CLOSE.
- START PBAs — OFF.
- FUEL 1 and FUEL 2 PBAs — CLOSE.
- ENG fire PBA (affected engine) — ARM.
- READY/DISCHARGE PBA — DISCHARGE. Illumination of READY indicates fire bottle is ready for
discharge. Ensure indication changes to DISCH to show fire bottle discharged.- Helicopter — SHUTDOWN.
- Exit helicopter.
- READY/DISCHARGE PBA — DISCHARGE. Illumination of READY indicates fire bottle is ready for
ROTOR BRAKE PRESSURIZES IN FLIGHT
*1. Rotor brake handle — STOWED (full down).
If warning light remains illuminated and secondary indications exist:
*2. HYD 1 PBA — OFF (illuminated).
*3. COOLER PBA — HYD 2 (illuminated).
*4. Nr — MONITOR.
5. Airspeed — ADJUST 100 KIAS or less.
6. Land as soon as possible.
SCAS Hardover
- SCAS — DISENG.
- Aircraft Control — Regain.
- Airspeed — Less than 100 KIAS.
- Land as soon as practical.
- Aircraft Control — Regain.
Complete Loss of Tail Rotor Thrust/Pitch Control/Tail Rotor Components (while in
Forward Flight)
*1. Autorotation — ACCOMPLISH.
Complete Loss of Tail Rotor Thrust/Pitch Control/Tail Rotor Components (while at a
Hover)
- Throttles — IDLE.
- Autorotation — ACCOMPLISH.
- Helicopter — Shutdown.
- Autorotation — ACCOMPLISH.
Dual−Engine Failure In−Flight
*1. Autorotation — ACCOMPLISH.
Jammed/Fixed Pitch Tail Rotor Pitch Control
*1. Controls — ADJUST (Use power and airspeed to align the nose).
2. Execute a long shallow approach to landing and set up for the appropriate landing technique.
If fixed left:
3. Execute a hover landing.
If slight fixed right:
4. Execute a sliding landing. (Adjust power and airspeed to land with the nose aligned in the direction of
travel.)
If excessive fixed right:
5. Execute a sliding landing. (Utilize collective, airspeed, and throttle to land at the slowest groundspeed
possible with the nose aligned in the direction of travel).
Single−Engine Failure In Flight
*1. Controls — ADJUST.
*2. Stores — JETTISON (as appropriate).
If single engine flight is not sustainable:
3. Helicopter — LAND.
If single-engine flight is sustainable:
4. Failed engine — IDENTIFY.
5. Throttle (affected engine) — CLOSE.
6. FUEL PBA (affected engine) — CLOSED.
7. XFEED PBA — OPEN (illuminated).
8. INTCON PBA — OPEN (blank).
9. Engine Restart In Flight — As desired.
10. Land as soon as possible.
Engine Np Underspeed
- Controls — ADJUST (to maintain Nr and establish single-engine flight parameters).
- Stores — JETTISON (as appropriate).
- Affected engine — IDENTIFY (low MGT).
- Throttle (affected engine) — ADVANCE to DECU lockout.
- Land as soon as practical.
- Stores — JETTISON (as appropriate).
Engine Ng/Np Overspeed
- Controls — ADJUST (to control Nr).
- Affected engine — IDENTIFY.
- Throttle (affected engine) — Adjust manually to maintain 100 percent Nr.
- Land as soon as practical.
- Controls — ADJUST (to control Nr).
Compressor Stalls
*1. Controls — ADJUST (to maintain Nr, reduce power, and establish single-engine flight parameters).
*2. Stores — JETTISON (as appropriate).
If conditions persist:
3. Throttle (affected engine) — IDLE.
4. Bleed air (ECU/VENT, ENGINE ANTI-ICE) — AS REQUIRED.
If compressor stall persists (MGT continues to rise above normal, Ng decreases below normal idle speed, or any
other malfunction is indicated):
5. Throttle (affected engine) — CLOSE (as required).
6. Perform single-engine procedures — AS REQUIRED.
If MGT decreases or stall clears:
7. Throttle (affected engine) — ADVANCE slowly to full open.
8. MGT — MONITOR.
9. Land as soon as practical.
Fuselage Fire In Flight
*1. Land immediately.
Complete Electrical Failure
*1. Check BATT PBA — ON. If battery power is not restored: *2. Land immediately. If battery power is restored: 3. Cycle GEN 1 and 2 PBAs — OFF then ON. If generator power is not restored: 4. Verify NON ESS PBA — Normal (blank). 5. APU — ON. If APU does not restore power: 6. GEN 1 and GEN 2 PBAs — OFF. 7. All unnecessary equipment — OFF (CBs Pulled). 8. NON ESS PBA — As desired. 9. Land as soon as possible. If APU power is restored: 10. NON ESS PBA — As required. 11. Aircraft systems — Regain. 12. Land as soon as practical.
Dual−Engine Fire In Flight
*1. Controls — ADJUST (to establish an autorotation).
*2. Stores — JETTISON (as appropriate).
*3. Throttles — CLOSE.
*4. FUEL 1 and FUEL 2 PBAs — CLOSE.
*5. ENG fire PBA — ARM (as required).
*6. READY/DISCH PBA — DISCHARGE. Illumination of READY indicates fire bottle is ready for discharge.
Ensure indication says DISCH to show fire bottle discharged.
*7. Autorotative landing — ACCOMPLISH.
Single−Engine Fire In Flight
*1. Controls — ADJUST (to establish single-engine parameters).
*2. Stores — JETTISON (as appropriate).
*3. Throttle (affected engine) — CLOSE.
*4. FUEL PBA (affected engine) — CLOSE.
*5. ENG fire PBA (affected engine) — ARM.
*6. READY/DISCH PBA — DISCHARGE. Illumination of READY indicates fire bottle is ready for discharge.
Ensure indication says DISCH to show fire bottle discharged.
7. XFEED PBA — AUTO (blank).
8. INTCON PBA — OPEN (blank).
9. Land as soon as possible.
If fire persists:
10. Land immediately.
Electrical Fire
*1. Affected equipment — OFF and CBs pulled. If fire persists: *2. INV 1 and INV 2 PBAs — OFF. If fire persists: *3. GEN 1 and GEN 2 PBAs — OFF. If fire persists: *4. Land immediately. If smoke, fumes or fire is not evident and continued flight is necessary: 5. GEN 1 PBA — ON. 6. GEN 2 PBA — ON. 7. INV 1 PBA — ON. 8. INV 2 PBA — ON. 9. Necessary equipment — ON. If smoke, fumes or fire is evident on any step 5. through 9.: 10. Applicable equipment — OFF and CBs pulled. 11. Land as soon as practical. If a generator cannot be restored: 12. Land as soon as possible.
Engine−Driven Suction Fuel Pump Failure
*1. XFEED PBA — OPEN (illuminated).
2. INTCON PBA — OPEN (blank).
3. Land as soon as practical.
If affected engine has flamed out:
4. Single-engine failure procedures — EXECUTE.
AUTOROTATIVE LANDING
*1. Controls — ADJUST (to maintain Nr and desired airspeed).
*2. Stores — JETTISON (as appropriate).
*3. Throttles — CLOSE.
4. FUEL PBAs — CLOSE.
After touchdown:
5. Emergency Shutdown — COMPLETE.
SINGLE−ENGINE FAILURE DURING TAKEOFF
If fly-away airspeed does not exist:
*1. Controls — ADJUST (cushion aircraft for landing).
If fly-away airspeed does exist:
*2. Controls — ADJUST (to climb and establish/maintain autorotation parameters).
*3. Single−engine failure in flight procedures — EXECUTE.
