Q

Jammed/Fixed Pitch Tail Rotor Pitch Control

A

*1. Controls — ADJUST (Use power and airspeed to align the nose).
2. Execute a long shallow approach to landing and set up for the appropriate landing technique.
If fixed left:
3. Execute a hover landing.
If slight fixed right:
4. Execute a sliding landing. (Adjust power and airspeed to land with the nose aligned in the direction of
travel.)
If excessive fixed right:
5. Execute a sliding landing. (Utilize collective, airspeed, and throttle to land at the slowest groundspeed
possible with the nose aligned in the direction of travel).
