Meigs’ Syndrome Triad
- Ascites
- Pleural effusion
- Ovarian tumor (benign)
V. Rare, treat by paracentesis (draining of excess ovarian fluid) + unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy
Alport Syndrome
Presentation: Child / teenager (MALE)
Renal: glomerulonephritis, end-stage renal failure, haematuria / proteinuria
Neuro: hearing loss + eyesight loss
Cause: 85% X-linked, can be autosomal recessive / dominant but rare.
Treatment: No curative, symptomatic treatment
Asherman’s Syndrome
Features: Adhesions within the uterus
Symptoms: irregular bleeding + infertility
Causes: TOP / ERPC
Felty’s syndrome
Feltys syndrome is a condition characterized by splenomegaly and neutropenia in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis. Hypersplenism results in destruction of blood cells which classically results in neutropenia but can also cause pancytopenia
