Risk Assessment Code
RAC 1
Within 24 hours for conditions that pose imminent danger
RAC 2
Within 3 working days for conditions that pose potentially serious safety and health concerns

Within 20 working days for conditions that pose less than serious safety and health concerns

No prescribed timeline for conditions that pose a minimal safety and health concern and may represent best practices

Injury/occupational illness resulting in fatality or permanent total disability
Military personnel missing or missing in action
Damage to CG property (not boats) is $2mil or greater
Damage to a CG or non CG boat of $300,000 or greater
Class B mishap
Injury/illness resulting in permanent partial disability
Damage to CG or non CG property (not boats) of $500,000 or greater but less than $2mil
Damage to a CG or non CG boat of $200,000 or greater but less than $300,000
Class C mishap
Injury/occupation illness resulting in 1 or more days away from work beyond the day or shift in which the mishap occurred
Loss of time from work
Placed on limited/restricted duty
Transfer of an individual to a different job
Damage to CG or non CG property (not boats) is $50,000 or greater but less than $500,000
Damage to a CG or non CG boat of $50,000 or greater but less than $200,000
Class D mishap
Injury/occupational illness that requires treatment by a med professional but does not result in any days away from work or transfer to a different job beyond the day the mishap occurred
Damage to CG or non CG property (not aviation) of $5,000 or greater but less than $50,000
Any damage of aviation property of less than $50,000
