Q

example of epistasis using labradors

A

gene 1: controls whether pigment will be expressed
- allele E = dominant, codes for pigment production
- allele e = recessive, codes for no pigment production (always be yellow)

gene 2: controls which pigment is expressed
- allele B = dominant, codes for black fur
- allele B = recessive, codes for brown fur

  • EeBb = brown fur
  • eeBB = yellow
  • EEbb = brown
