The epigenome isa collection of chemical compounds and proteins that modify the genome, or DNA, to control how genes are turned on or off, and when and where they are needed.The term comes from the Greek word epi, which means “above” the genome.

What is genetic tuning?
Genetic tuning takes a more subtle approach,effectively replacing the switch with a dial. By regulating the epigenome through a selection of enhancer sequences and effector proteins, genetic tuning can direct a wide spectrum of effects on gene expression – from transient activation to sustained repression.
