Q

what are the limitations of DMF index?

A
  • teeth can be extracted for reasons other than caries
  • may miss interproximal caries
  • Some may mistake fissure-sealants for restorations - underestimating caries
  • influenced by past disease activity only
  • cant be used for root caries
