What is the differnce between odds and risk?
The odds measures # of people who are affected over # of people not affected. Whereas risk measures # of ppl affected over total population.
If the 95% confidence interval for an odds or risk ratio does not include 1, does this tell you about the p-value?
p-value is less than 0.05
What do you conclude if the 95% confidence interval for a mean difference between 2 variables includes 0?
Test is not statistically significant. Null hypothesis is not rejected. p-value is greater than 0.05.
What does the p-value represent?
The probability that a difference is based on chance alone. (probability of making a type I error - seeing a difference where there was none).
