When you scan in the information, you have to answer a series of prompts if it’s a brand new med this information be sent to the IT team who will create the ERX and add to the formulary list. Only specific individuals have the ability to add or DC on the formulary. Only the IT department can add the ERX.

For EPIC to know the amount to dispense for administration you need to yellow dot NDC so the logic reads regardless of dose. This is the amount we are dispensing. This is what a yellow dart really means. The reason we do this is continuous infusions. There’s not a total amount to administer.

They show like other meds and have an FSV ID they will fire allergy and drug interaction warnings. No change in the way they’re handled and Pyxis.
