EFB OVERHEAT/FIRE

If you notice your iPad and/or battery are extremely hot OR the EFB catches fire, conduct the following:

“Immediately remove external power source (external battery, if applicable)”

External Power Source ….. Remove

“Shutdown the iPad:”

On/Off; Sleep/Wake button (on top of unit) …. Hold
Red Power Off Bar ….. Swipe from Left to Right

“If Flames are Visible”

Immediately isolate the iPad (floor of flight deck between seats is recommended) and use the fire extinguisher on the flames.

  • DO NOT SMOTHER the fire or cover with ice.
  • DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to turn the iPad back on.
