EP's Flashcards
Abort start procedure
1- Ignition does not take place after reaching N1=20% 20ah 15 sec vent & wait 60 40 Ah- wait 30 seconds, then vent 15 and wait 30 seconds
2- if abnormal noises are heard
3- TOT rises abnormally rapidly(if limits aren’t exceeded wait 15 seconds after N1=0 to drain excessive fuel
4-if engine hangs
5- No positive engine or transmission oil pressure at idle
6- If N1 or N2 increase beyond engine limits
7-Abnormal vibrations during a to increase
8- if starter still engaged at 50%
TURN OFF ENG MAIN SWs
SHUT OFF RESPECTIVE TWISTGRIPS
Three basic rules
1- Maintain ac control
2- analyze the situation
3-take proper action
Restrictions by of CBs
Shall not be reset in flight unless pic judges it to necessary for safe completion of flight
OEI ESTABLISH
Maintain within OEI limits
If engine is tending toward zero
65 Vy or Vtoss 40-best climb gradient
If Engine has residual power - determine if OEI flight is able- double the torque on good engine
If OEI can be maintained- continue EP procedure
If engine power can’t attain OEI, land as soon as possible and reestablish power for landing
Warning lights and cautions
Red WARNING - he Ny, indicated an emergency condition requiring immediate attention
Yellow - caution, immediate action not needed but possible need for corrective a action
BAT DISCH - warning
Gong, (normal during start)
Check GEN,BAT AMPS, DC VOLTS
reduce electrical consumption
Land as soon as practicable
GEN OVHT - memory item
AFFECTED GEB SWITCH OFF if GEN OVHT stays on for more than a minute OEI flight condition establish Identify affected engine Single engine emergency shutdown Land as soon as practical
HYD PRESS
Pressure loss in the respective system
System 2 - yaw servo will be lost, increased part pedal forces
STARTER
Gen sw off
Check starter caution off
Check electrical load and reduce electrical consumption
Pull CB if starter caution is still on
After landing shutdown engine with twist grip to avoid engine over temperature
TRGB CHIP
Metal particles in tail rotor gearbox
Land as soon as practicable
XMSM OIL P , Memory
XMSM oil pressure indication check in normal range
Land as soon a practicable
XMSM OIL T , memory
XMSM oil temperature and oil pressure - check indication
If within limits land as soon as practicable
If indications are out of limits - reduce power as much as possible
LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
SINGLE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN, memory
Make certain affected engine controls are selected
ENG MAIN sw(affected engine). - IDLE, check indications, the OFF
Engine over speed driveshaft failure - memory
Nro decrease, affected engine has Tq to zero, N2 oscillates
Normal engine- Tq, N1 and TOT increase, N2 del new on previous setting
1-establish OEI
2-identify affected engine
3- single engine emergency shutdown
4- land as soon as practicable
ENGINE OVERSPEED- governing failure- memory
Both engines TQN1 and TOT oscillate but bad engine increases and good decreases
Use collective to maintain. n2&Nr within limits
Identify affected engine
TWIST GRIP ON AFFECTED ENGINE UNTIL NORMAL ENGINE TAKES THE LOAD
Collective readjust
Select MAN ENG MODE SELECT
Adjust TWiST GRIP TO 20%~30%
Readjust collective
Land as soon as practicable
TWIST GTIP , REDUCE BEOFE LOWERING COLLECTIVE TO MAINTAIN N2/Nro
