EP's Flashcards
ENGINE OUT light
Left yaw
drop in engine and rotor RPM
change in noise
Engine failure above 500
-Adjust collective to between 410-520RPM
-apply pedal
-airspeed no greater than 131kts
failure indicators actuate after N! goes below 55% or N2 goes below 468RPM
LOW rpm horn
sounds when NR falls below 468
can be due to, engine failure, gov failure, transient rotor drop during large power increase
Water Landing - PWR off
-Establish auto
if time permits, open door
-Make auto rotative landing with minimal forward movement after flare
-level and pull pitch as water is contacted
- when aircraft starts rolling, lower collective
- unbuckle and clear a/c
Water landing - Power on
-Descend to hover over water
- open door handle all the way down to prevent relocking
- passengers exit
-fly away
-close throttle and perform hover auto
- lower collective as it rolls
- remove seatbelt and exit once blades stop turning
Engine CHIP
metal in oil
land as soon as possible
Low oil pressure
in flight - land as soon as possible and shut down engine
on ground - shut down engine
Engine torque
In flight - land as soon as possible
shut down engine
on ground - shut down engine
MR XMSN oil pressure
land as soon as possible
MR XMSN oil temp
land as soon as possible
MR XMSN CHIP
land as soon as possible
TR XMSN CHIP
land as soon as possible
Cyclic trim failure
-Establish flight condition that reduces cyclic control force.
-actuate trim in all direction to attempt to restore trim and determine extent of failure.
-check and reset trim circuit breaker if in safe flight
- land as soon as practical if unable to re-establish cyclic trim control
Gen malfunction
-check GEN circuit breaker is in
-Turn Gen switch off then on to reset
- if it doesnt reset and light is still on, pull breaker out and make sure switch is in the on position.
-reduce electrical load
land as soon as practical
Switch must be ON to enable Engine out/low rpm audio warning
