How do you measure temperature?
You would use a thermometer. This is measured in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit.
How would you measure precipitation
You would use a rain gauge. This measures precipitation in mm (millimetres). It uses a cup which measures how many mm of rain falls into that cup.
How would you measure Air Pressure?
You would use a barometer to measure air pressure. This measures air pressure which uses a series of measurements that track the number of atmospheres or bars.
How do you measure sunshine hours?
You would use a Campell-Stokes-Recorder. It concentrates through a glass sphere onto a focal point where it measures the burn trace left on the card.
How do you measure cloud cover?
Using your eyes you divide the sky up into eight boxes. You would use oktas as the units.
How do you measure wind direction?
You use a weather vane. The vane will point in the direction the wind is going. The units are compass direction.
How do you measure visibility?
You use a visibility meter. There are two parts to a visibility meter, one part sends out an infrared light beam and the other one absorbs it. This is measure in KM (kilometres).
How do you measure wind speed?
You measure wind speed using an anemometer. This rotates and counts the number of rotations. This is measured in Km/h (Kilometres per hour.)
How do you measure humidity?
You use a hygrometer. A hygrometer measures in weight and humidity is measured in %.
