EOS model Flashcards
What does EOS stand for?
Entrepreneurial Operating Syste
What does EOS provide?
acomplete set of simple concepts and practical tools that has helped thousands of entrepreneurs get what they want from their businesses
If we were to implement EOS, :what should we see?
Better Vision: Getting everyone in your organisation 100% on the same page with where you’re going, and how you plan to get there
Better Traction®: Instilling focus, discipline, and accountability throughout the company so that everyone executes on that vision—every day
Better Health: helping your leaders become a more cohesive, functional, healthy leadership team
What are the 6 components of EOS?
Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process and Traction.
What does the Vision component offer?
Strengthening this component means getting everyone in the organisation 100 percent on the same page with where you’re going and how you’re going to get there.
What does the Data component offer?
This means cutting through all the feelings, personalities, opinions and egos and boiling your organisation down to a handful of objective numbers that give you an absolute pulse on where things are.
Within the Data component is the Company Scorecard. How is this used?
Using a Scorecard of 5-15 numbers/KPIs/Measureables and reviewing it each week which will inevitably give you historical data to track and then to predict future outcomes.
Within the Data component is the use of measureables in the scorecard - what are the measureables?
The measureables are the factors by which numbers are provided. Proposals for the year at 100.
What does the issues component offer?
Strengthening this component means becoming great at solving problems throughout the organisation – setting them up, knocking them down and making them go away forever.
Within the Issues component, there is the ‘Issues Solving Track’ - what is this?
The Issues Solving Track follows the IDS methodology which is Identify, Discuss and Solve.
Identify: Get to the real issue.
Discuss: Openly debate with everyone in the team.
Solve: Once a solution is agreed upon, it needs to be added to the To-Do List.
What does the process component offer?
This means “systemising” your business by identifying and documenting the core processes that define the way to run your business. You’ll need to get everyone on the same page with what the essential procedural steps are, and then get everyone to follow them to create consistency and scalability in your organisation.
Within the process component, what is to be documented?
Following the traditional entrepreneurial rules, document 20% of the activities that are responsible for 80% of the results.
Within the process component, what is followed by all?
It means that everyone is following the same processes which lead to consistency, predictability and profitability.
What does the Traction Component offer?
This means bringing discipline and accountability into the organisation – becoming great at execution – taking the vision. It includes steps 6,7 and 8 of the 8 step V/TO which are the 1-year plan, Rocks and Issues List.
Within the Traction component, what are the Rocks?
Rocks are the 3-7 major items that must be looked at within the quarter/90 days. The future date will be 90 days ahead, adding revenue, profit and measureables to the list as well. The big rocks need to be added to this list and assigned to someone.
